What are the 3 things I learned from him?
1. Have a plan for your life and business.
I used to plan for my career, but when it came to life, I always came up with self doubt. Jim Rohn’s audios, ezines and DVDs gave me an inspiration and courage to plan daily and seek fulfillment. I started writing my journal, doing daily action plan, reading several personal development books, exercising, meditation and ensuring that daily actions led to creating wealth in all areas of life, namely. physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, financial, business, social and family.
2. Set a Goal to become a millionaire-Not for the money, but for the person you want to become in the process of becoming a millionaire.
Being raised in a middle class family, the thought of setting such a goal was embarrassing. His teachings always urged us to look for the purpose behind why we do what we do. When starting my entrepreneurial venture, I was sure that I am not going to receive paycheck regularly. I needed the education and the inspiration to take the right steps and make responsible decisions to stay in the entrepreneurial game. Listening to Jim Rohn’s “The Art of Exceptional Living” helped me stay on track.
3. Wages make you a living, but profits can make you a fortune.
Again, I grew up in a family where my father was a hard core salaried class and always thought business is not for me. After listening to Jim Rohn’s CDs, I realized that job security is an illusion and the few things that will help us survive in any economy are a) to become skillful, b)take care of your body like a temple, c) be a continuous student of life and business and d)have a sound financial plan
